Portofino is a small village of 400 inhabitants near Genova in Liguria. Although very small in size, Portofino is a popular and well-known luxury holiday resort and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy; many celebrities and jet-setters can be seen here. Historical Portofino
The symbols of Portofino are its narrow, pastel-colored houses and its Piazzetta overlooking the sea and the marina. It’s hard to find white houses in this magnificent village, due to its ancient tradition of painting the houses in bright colors. While here, you should visit the Brown Castle, the Parks’ Museum, San Fruttuoso Abbey, and San Martino Chruch.

If you happen to be in Portofino, don’t forget to include some of the hiking or kayaking tours into your travel programs. One of the most popular hiking trails goes from Portofino to Camogli and it’s a 3-hour walk of medium difficulty. Going shopping, enjoying the local ice-cream, or simply admiring the colorful houses are all great activities to indulge yourself in. You can also climb up to the ancient Lighthouse and appreciate the view of beautiful nature and landscapes.
